Engine efficiency is a big answer to saving money
With everyone feeling the effects of the economic downturn, making sure your cars engine runs as efficiently as possible is vital if you are to reduce your motoring costs.
And thats exactly why its time to turn to STP. Regular use of STP® products as part of basic maintenance will help your vehicle run better, last longer and be more fuel-efficient.
STP Top Tips for saving money:
Keep the fuel flowing!
Making the best use of the fuel in your engine is helped by removal of contaminants on the engines fuel injectors. These have been found to start forming in as few as 2,500 kilometers in a new engine and studies have shown that they can decrease your fuel efficiency by as much as 11%.
One great way to keep money-eating deposits from accumulating in your fuel system is to use STP® Fuel Treatment every time the oil is changed. Simply adding it to a thankful of fuel helps to dissolve and remove harmful carbon, gum and varnish deposits on fuel injectors, improving the efficiency of your engine and saving you money.
Service regularly!
The performance of an engine reduces as mileage increases, partly due to the build-up of engine deposits. The car may not start so easily, doesnt run so well, and probably uses more fuel. Thats why its important to service the engine according to the manufacturers recommendation
and remember to use STP Fuel Additives to help keep it in the best shape.
Think about your driving
How you accelerate can affect your fuel mileage. Plan trips to avoid a great deal of stop-and-go driving and accelerate smoothly and gently. Also, use cruise control if fitted to ensure a consistent speed.
Check your tire pressures
According to industry sources, under-inflated tires cut fuel economy by as much as 4% for each Kilogram of pressure. If your tires are under-inflated, your engine will have to work harder to push your vehicle.
Keep in mind that warm tires can give an inaccurate reading because heat build-up increases tire pressure. Make sure to check your tires' air pressure when they haven't been driven for more than a mile. And that your tires are inflated as recommended by the manufacturer
Reduce weight!
The heavier the car the more fuel youll use. So make sure what you have in your car you actually need for the trip.
Get aerodynamic!
Remove bike racks or roof carriers when they are not being used -they can reduce the aerodynamics of your vehicle, which can lead to greater fuel usage
